“
Because of the Lords great love for us we are not consumed, his compassions never fail,
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself,
“The Lord is my portion, therefore I will wait for Him.”
Lam. 3 : 22-24
Dear Family and Friends:
Have you ever been studying a specific subject in the Bible and one verse just really stands out? One that you know you need to remember? You come across it for one subject and the more you meditate on it you find it is relating to every area of your life at that moment. A word you need to take to heart everyday in every situation. That is exactly the type of scriptures Lamentations 3:22-24 has been for me the last few months. I have heard them many times before but not usually together. Verse 24 came up during my studying of biblical financial principles. As I all most always do, I read the verses surrounding v 24 to get a better understanding. At first I didn’t’ think anything of it, and then the more I read it the more I could see the reality of it in my own life. My first thought was it was referring to the difficult times and struggles we have in our lives. Especially those times when we seem to be falling short of what we know God wants us to do. But as I read it during this particular time, I realized that if we are not trusting and waiting on God during the “good times” when we are surrounded by blessings and opportunities, we can just as easily be consumed by life.
In February, I spent a week at our MTI School in Matamoros, Mexico. While there, I shared with the students the basics of financial accountability and record keeping and introduced them to Biblical financial principles with an emphasis on stewardship. I spent two days sharing at the school and 2 days sharing with our FYMs (First Year Missionaries).

It was a blessing! All went well despite the fact that my computer crashed 3 days before I was to leave. God is sovereign! Since I had done a practice run with a friend and co-worker, I had all my notes printed out and already in my notebook. Another friend, co-worker that had helped me with the translations into Spanish was still in town, (she was leaving the next day for Peru) and I was able to recover most of my PowerPoint presentations and some notes.
Since my return from Mexico, many possibilities for expanding my ministry here have surfaced. If I stop to think about it, it boggles my mind. I have to be careful because I can still get ahead of myself and God, trying to figure out what is going to be next (which is never a good thing for me to do.) I have learned that I must continue to trust and take the next right step making sure I do not close off any opportunities or possibilities. Then I must wait for Him to direct me. Because of His great love for me, I will not be consumed, He is faithful and I will wait for Him. I will continue working to keep my focus on Jesus and do the best I can with what is right in front of me.
It is hard to believe another summer project season is underway. We will be sending over 5,500 youth to various locations this summer, 2,200 to New Orleans alone. It has become a powerful ministry area and the love of Jesus is getting through to many of the hurting and lost people there. Our Ambassador teams (month long projects) are in for training this month, our Real Life Missions Teams (3 Months) went out the end of May, and First Year Missionaries are in till September, and we still have World Race Teams out and another one will be training with our First Year Missionaries in August. Please be sure and check out our web site for all the details and reports. God is doing amazing things!
I am thankful for the strong staff of five full-time and one part time person (besides myself) handling the accounting functions behind the ministry. This has allowed me to squarely focus on enhancing the financial reporting to our managers and, increase my role in the financial training for our missionaries.
Thank you for your continued support of my ministry here, especially through my quite times. Your encouraging e-mails and letters are always welcome and appreciated. Each time I hear from you, I take time to lift you in prayer and thank God, for you and the part you have in my ministry here. It is an honor and a privilege. Until next time, may God Bless you and keep you.
